The 3rd Silesian Meeting of Young Scholars (SMYS) is organised by the Institute of English of the University of Silesia and the 2nd Young Researchers' International Symposium on Multilingualism (YRISM) is co-organised with the International Association of Multilingualism. Both SMYS and YRISM were successful in their previous gatherings (Szczyrk 2013, 2014 and Donostia-San Sebastian 2016, respectively), so we have decided to join forces. We believe that it will be a worthwhile experience for young researchers to participate in this dual formula meeting/symposium.
