Carefully chosen Scottish ingredients are the focus of Cafe Source, a stylish cafe bar in the historic setting of Glasgow’s St Andrew’s in the Square. A former church, St Andrew’s in the Square is now a stunning cultural venue with an emphasis on roots, folk, country and traditional music and dance. Downstairs from the sympathetically restored auditorium, Cafe Source is a sleek contemporary space which specialises in modern Scottish cooking. Our restaurant sits in Glasgow city centre but our menu uses food from all over Scotland. Well regarded suppliers such as Ramsay’s of Carluke or Taylor’s of Strathaven are proudly listed as is the provenance of many of the ingredients, be they West Coast mussels, Howgate brie or oatcakes from Arran. Dishes with a distinct Scottish flavour include the smoked haddock and leek tart served with a drappit egg or the Slow Roasted Belly of Ramsay's Pork. While the ingredients are almost always Scottish, the dishes are not necessarily so. Our other favourites include Cafe Source club sandwich, Confited Lamb Shank with a mixed bean, chorizo & potato cassoulet or the Pan- Fried Fillet of Sea Bass with Nicoise style crushed potatoes. We even have a croque monsieur toasted sandwich although, of course, the ham comes from Ayrshire. Take a look at our Sample menus and see for yourself. All in all there is something for everyone.
