The White House Kitchen

Built in 1936, The White House is a B listed art deco Roadhouse situated at the heart of Craigmillar. Designed by William Innes Thomson. It is now a community hub and seen as a key symbol of the ongoing regeneration of Craigmillar. This community café and venue is run by the Community Alliance Trust for the benefit of the Greater Craigmillar Neighbourhoods. The café has a healthy, affordable menu serving breakfast 8am -12pm and lunch up until 3pm. All our food is prepared by our Chefs on the premises and where possible locally sourced produce is used, including herbs and vegetables from our very own kitchen garden. The White House Kitchen can also provide an outside catering service. Our Head Chef will design a menu to suit including homemade cakes, pastries, sushi, sandwiches, and much more. The Venue Hall and office space are available for community use and hire. Our hall comfortably holds 50+ people in a theatre layout and can be adapted to suit various table layouts for meetings, workshops, and a variety of celebrations or events.
