Ogólne informacje
Kett's Heights is perhaps the finest spot in Norwich from where to enjoy panoramic views of the city – and was the site of one of most important chapters of Norfolk history. Yet it remains little known, overgrown and somewhat neglected. Now, though, a new project is under way to restore Kett’s Heights to its former glory and revive this hidden gem. The site, close to Mousehold Heath, contains the ruins of St Michael’s Chapel, where Robert Kett is said to have set up his rebel headquarters in 1549, as his forces besieged the city. The viewpoint remains open to visitors and offers stunning vistas across Norwich. However, in recent years, trees and greenery have begun to obstruct the views. A new group, the Friends of Kett’s Heights, has been set up to carry out work on the site and encourage more people to enjoy it. (information courtesy EDP).
