Ogólne informacje
Why do your feet hurt? Our feet work incredibly hard. It is estimated that during our lifetime they will carry us an average distance of 120,000 kilometers. •The 26 bones in each foot are arranged in such a way that they can not only support our entire body weight, but they can adapt from being a flexible shock absorber to becoming a rigid means of propulsion – all within the space of one step! •Our feet function best barefoot on surfaces that ‘give’, such as when we walk on a beach. Unfortunately, evolution has not yet caught up with the fact that we now spend most of our time walking on concrete. •Although most people are born with healthy feet, by the time we reach adulthood, more than 80% of us will suffer from an uncomfortable foot problem. •Some foot problems are inherited. Others develop as a result of the type of shoes we wear, or the type of activities we take part in. Some diseases or disorders can also have an effect on the feet. You shouldn’t have to suffer from pain or discomfort with your feet We can help with: A disorder that puts your feet at risk, e.g. diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis Damaged, thickened toe nails Unsightly, discoloured toe nails Painful ingrowing toe nails Painful corns or calluses Rough, cracked heels Verrucaes Aching joints
