Glentrool Camping and Caravan Site is a quiet camp site, situated within south-west Scotland's Galloway Forest Park – with more than 1 million trees and 300 square miles of rugged, breathtaking landscapes and home to a wide variety of wildlife, this is the area's perfect expedition base camp. A Scottish Tourist Board Four Star Caravan Park, Glentrool Holiday Park has 14 hard-standing pitches for caravans and motor homes, all with electricity available, tent pitches, a small shop on site and shower block facilities. All facilities are new for the 2014 season. There are also self-catering holiday caravans available to hire – perfect for family holiday breaks. Close by is the coast-to-coast Southern Upland Way which passes close to Glentrool Holiday Park, making it an ideal stop-over for those taking the walk from Portpatrick to Eyemouth. ; the spectacular Loch Trool; the RSPB Wood of Cree Nature Reserve and two of the world-renowned 7Stanes Mountain Biking Trails, make Glentrool Holiday Park the perfect base camp for your expeditions into the great outdoors! There's also some tremendous hillwalking in the Galloway Hills with the highest peak (The Merrick) standing at 2,766ft. The Galloway Forest Park also has 250 lochs and covers an area of 300 square miles.
