Ogólne informacje
The only Hospice at Home service in Pembrokeshire was founded in memory of the late Paul Sartori, a local priest who dedicated his life to helping others and saw the need for a hospice service in Pembrokeshire. Father Paul sadly died in 1980 at the age of 39. A group of his close friends came together over 35 years ago to tirelessly raise funds and grants, and in 1982 they succeeded in registering the foundation as a charity. Later in 1985, with six carers, the Hospice at Home Care Service started. Over the years the Foundation has expanded and grown to employ over 30 staff including nurses and carers, a clinical nurse specialist, bereavement counsellor, physiotherapist, complementary therapists and an equipment loan team who provide over 1000 items of equipment every year. A dedicated team is available 365 days a year 24 hours a day to provide a free service to meet the needs of patients who wish to be cared for at home at the end of life, in familiar surroundings, with the pain relief, respect and dignity they deserve.
