What we do know is .. In 1651 Colonel Gounter drank ale at the then named 'The Falcon' at Warnford during his part in the Flight of Charles II Later the Inn became a coaching house and during the late 18th century, George III was reputed to have changed horses at the Inn on his way to Weymouth and to show honour for his visit it was renamed 'The George' Gradually 'The George' reverted back to being a village Inn but with the advent of the motor car it soon became a popular eating house. In 1976 the Inn changed to a Free House and to commemorate the occasion 'The George' was renamed 'The George & Falcon' There have been various owners over the past 40 years, it closed for a while in 2009 for a major refurbishment and we have been here since 2010 and are proud to have made it a 'popular eating house' once more!
