Wikirating is the first transparent and collaborative global organization for credit ratings. It offers an open, editable centralized place for all credit rating related topics, and credit ratings for all countries, corporations and other financial products. Wikirating unites rating experts, economists and normal people, similar to Wikipedia, only with a strong and strict peer review concept. Wikirating already publishes since 2011 credit ratings of 150+ countries, which partly differ very much in the ones of the three main rating agencies – Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s and Fitch. In November 2012 a strategic alliance with the US not-for-profit rating provider Public Sector Credit Solutions was concluded. In January 2013 the Swiss non-profit Wikirating Association was founded, in order to ensure the further development of the platform. Between 2011 and 2012 Wikirating received a substantial worldwide attention, it was mentioned in more than 50 international press releases in 18 countries – beneath Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Financial Times (Germany), Spiegel Online and Financial Post (Canada). On Wikipedia the community created in January 2012 the article about Wikirating, and in November 2012 the founder Dorian Credé gave the speech “Are we smarter than credit rating agencies?” at the TEDx Event in Vienna.
