Ogólne informacje
Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation is an independent non-profit humanitarian organisation, in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The Foundation aims to document the cases of the victims of terrorism, and provide comprehensive care for their families and orphans. The care provided includes financial assistance, in addition to medical care, educational support, psychological rehabilitation and vocational training. Due to the devastating consequences of terrorist attacks within the country beginning 2003, many children have been left orphaned and families have been left devastated. Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation was established in Iraq in 2006, to support and sponsor these orphans, and provide care for them in all aspects of their needs. Al-Ayn (UK) was registered as a charity in the UK in 2013, to work in collaboration with Al-Ayn (Iraq). As of November 2014, around 27,000 orphans have been registered with the Foundation, and currently 22,679 orphans are sponsored. In additional to monthly financial allowances, the orphans receive medical care, educational support, psychological rehabilitation, recreational activities, and other programmes tailored to their needs. Al-Ayn was set up under the guidance of Ayatollah Al-Sayyid Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Sistani (ha) and continues to receive his blessings and authorisation to receive religious dues to spend on the orphans.
