Originally a congregation planted from Moortown Baptist Church, it has been meeting at Chapel Allerton Primary School since 1994. In 2001 the church called Revd Ashley Hardingham to be its pastor and in 2002 it became an independent church. Chapel A is a growing church with lots of children and a growing youth work.
