ENG: The International American School of Warsaw (IAS) takes pride in being the first private American school of the post-communist period. Founded in 1989, it is unique among Polish schools for being fully accredited by each of the highly-reputed accrediting bodies: International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NWAC), the Polish Ministry of Education (MEN). We are also an official SAT Test Center (CollegeBoard). Children at IAS are encouraged to ask questions and solve problems through creative dialogue. They learn to plan, organize and solve problems productively, and the IAS curriculum is designed to meet these needs. To implement our educational goals, IAS recruits professional teachers directly from the United States, Great Britain and other English-speaking countries. At IAS teachers are also friends and mentors to their students, helping to satisfy their needs, especially the need to belong. Our message is "we care" and it is the foundation of quality education at IAS. Our student newspaper the "IAS Times" is published monthly. Other extracurricular opportunities include participating in hospice programs with the Warsaw Voluntary Mission; art contests; field trips; essay, art and oratory competitions, and music recitals.
