Our Group: 1st Quarry Bank Scouts are part of Dudley Scout District; which is part of West Mercia Scout County. We are a Charity and aim to offer outdoor activities and experiences to all young people within the local area. We have members who come from Quarry Bank, Lye, Stourbridge, Cradley Heath, Withymoor, Amblecote, Netherton, Tividale, Kingswinford, Dudley, Brierley Hill. Our members come from all the local schools; Thorns Primary, Mount Pleasant, Quarry Bank Primary, Peters Hill, Withymoor and others. Chances are when you join, there will be someone you know. In the 1960’s/1970’s for a brief period we were a sea scouts group – 1st Quarry Bank and Lye P.M Sea Scouts. We are currently researching our history but have found that we ran many trips and water experiences during this period. Although we are now a Land Scout Group again, we still enjoy outdoor activities on the water. We pride ourselves on our history, being formally established with the scout Association in 1921 and this is widely recognised as the official start date of our group; although we did operate before this date. We are always keen to speak to former members and learn more about our History.
