The majority of the people who access our service are young people who are homeless or are experiencing difficulty managing their tenancy on a low income and are in danger of losing their home. One of the key factors in young people becoming homeless is family breakdown and a lot of our referrals are as young as 16 years old. Understandably, this is a very young age to have the responsibility of building a home from scratch. We not only help young, vulnerable people but also: families fleeing domestic violence, those facing exceptional financial hardship or families who have broken down and are rebuilding their lives. In addition to learning how to manage their own homes many of our referrals face additional problems including: money worries, health issues, literacy and numeracy needs, unemployment and loneliness. Fusion Housing Ltd, in partnership with Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing and Kirklees Council, have set up the Recycling Project to provide FREE household items and white goods to people who need them the most. We are the only free service of our kind in Kirklees!
