From the moment you approach the outstanding entrance, with its imposing gates and large blue flags billowing their welcome you are transported into an 'oasis' where friendliness, quality, professionalism... and fast USGA greens are the keywords to the success of 'The Oaks'. The course is built in harmony with the natural woodland setting close to the picturesque Derwent Ings. The wide green fairways blend and bend with the gentle contours of the countryside. The greens were all built to USGA specifications with substantial mounding. There are seven lakes coming into play, Graham Walker's Golf Academy, superb practice facilities including driving bays, putting green, practice bunkers, chipping areas and short game practice areas. A picturesque half way pitstop with refreshments where you may see the rainbow trout perform in anticipation of a treat. You could be fortunate enough to be paid a visit by the family of swans. An old fashioned red telephone box waits to greet you on the 18th tee where you can order your hard earned refreshments from the clubhouse. There is also the luxurious Spa at The Oaks where you can treat yourself to a relaxing swim, a trip to the gym, a steam or sauna... or just lay back and let one of the therapists ease away your aches and pains with a sports massage or beauty treatment!
