Located in the small market town of Rhayader (gateway to the Elan Valley - the Lakelands of Wales) in Powys, Mid Wales. There has been an hotel on this site accommodating travellers for centuries. Run by the Collard family since 1947, a warm welcome is always guaranteed at the Lion Royal. The hotel has fifteen well-appointed rooms, most of which enjoy generous en-suite bathrooms with both shower and bath. There is a choice of twin-bedded, double & family rooms. We have a long association with the motor biking fraternity & equine community. Many other outdoor pursuits such as fishing, hill walking, bird watching & golfing can all be enjoyed in the nearby Elan Valley. We cater for all pastimes and interests, in large parties if required, and with ample parking, a large covered garage in the court-yard of the Hotel, we can assure you of the security of all your vehicles, two or four wheeled. We have a function room for parties of up to 120 for full meal or many more for buffet & dance events. Ideal for: Business meetings, Conferences, Wedding receptions, Funeral teas, Dinner-dances and Disco parties (for both children & adults).
