The Cow Shed (situated opposite the post office), is the stunning Grade 2 listed building around which Joanne Harris created the book Chocolat, adapted into the famous film. The elegant 16th century building with original features including crested ceiling, has been beautifully refurbished and opened in 2003 to rave reviews. With its open grill and cosmopolitan atmosphere, the COW SHED has quickly gained a reputation for excellence. The COW SHED has added a new dimension to Wakefield's restaurant scene.
