We are a group of volunteers, who are predominately disabled people but everyone is welcome. We campaign for the rights of disabled people when appropriate. We have also been co-opted onto many other consultation groups to offer our expertise as disabled people. Our subgroup looks at planning applications in terms of access issues for public buildings or those buildings where the public frequent such as shops, offices and schools. As a voluntary organisation with limited funding we are always looking for volunteers to join our happy band, as well as different sources of funding to help us continue to make a difference in our local community. Members of A.I.D. also represent our disabled community on many other consultation groups and forums. We also host the Dudley Disability Network, bringing together other disabled user led organisations (ULO) groups twice a year , so that we can share knowledge and information as well as views.
