Manchester Jewish Community Care (formerly known as Manchester Jewish Blind Society), was founded in 1951 to provide welfare services and social activities for blind and partially-sighted members of the Manchester Jewish community. In 1987 the original Victorian building was replaced with a new Day Centre and at the same time services were extended to include the needs of people with physical disabilities, the elderly and housebound as well as people with dementia.
