In July 1997, Mr Derek McMinn pioneered the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR), the world's most successful hip resurfacing solution for young and active patients. Mr McMinn has personally implanted over 3,500 BHRs since 1997. The Birmingham Knee Replacement (BKR) closely matches the natural kinematics of the knee and allows increased range of flexion producing better patient satisfaction compared to a Total Knee prosthesis. Please note that all of Mr McMinn's consultations and operations take place at BMI The Edgbaston Hospital, 22 Somerset Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2QQ. The McMinn Centre is the home of Mr McMinn's administration, research and media staff only and no patient services take place there.
