It is 125 years since Mary Wiley gave the Institute to the village of Church Eaton. In 1892 she saw the need for a community centre where parishioners could go for 'reading and recreation'. She donated the land, paid for the hall to be built and charged the 'rector of the day' to ensure that it was run for the benefit of the villagers.
