Wellesley House is a Co-educational Boarding Prep School for children between the ages of 7 and 13. Approximately two thirds of the children are boys. Most of the children are full boarders but some children board weekly or attend as day children. The 7-9 year old boys have their own boarding house attached to the main school. The Junior House is run by a Housemaster, Matrons and ancillary staff. All the girls are accommodated at The Orchard, a separate house on the far side of the grounds, set amongst fruit trees and private lawns. The Orchard is run by a Housemaster and his wife, Matrons and ancillary staff. The Headmaster and his wife live in the Main School building where the 10-13 year old boys are accommodated under the care of the Director of Boarding and resident matrons. Wellesley offers small classes, superb facilities and a dedicated teaching staff. Children are encouraged to enjoy sport, music, art and drama whilst at the same time developing their academic strengths. A strong sense of family values pervades and the happiness of each child is paramount. Traditional links with leading senior schools are maintained and in the last few years children have won a range of scholarships to Benenden, Eton, Harrow, Kings Canterbury and Lancing.
